Hiring Registered Nurses for the Indian Health Service in Chinle, Arizona

DAX Healthcare Solutions is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for contract opportunities supporting the Adult Care Unit at Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility in Chinle, Arizona.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced acute-care nurses interested in serving patients within the Indian Health Service while working in a unique rural healthcare environment.

• Location: Chinle, Arizona
• Specialty: Adult Care / Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
• Salary: $35/hr plus hourly comp for travel and lodging, Paid Federal Holidays, Earned PTO, $5.55/hour towards benefits
• Positions: Multiple openings
• Assignment Start: As soon as background is complete – 13 weeks with extension available up to 2 years
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts; rotating days and nights, including weekends and holidays as scheduled

What You’ll Do

As an Adult Care Unit RN, you will provide direct inpatient nursing care to adult patients with a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Responsibilities may include:

• Completing patient assessments and developing nursing plans of care
• Administering medications, IV therapies, fluids, and prescribed treatments
• Monitoring changes in patient condition and communicating findings to the healthcare team
• Providing medical-surgical and general adult inpatient nursing care
• Supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Performing wound care and other routine nursing procedures
• Providing patient and family education
• Coordinating care with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Responding to urgent and emergent changes in patient condition
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic clinical documentation
• Following facility, infection-control, patient-safety, HIPAA, and federal healthcare standards
• Providing culturally respectful care to patients and families

Qualifications

Successful candidates should have:

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Recent inpatient Adult Care, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Progressive Care, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
• Strong patient-assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to independently manage an inpatient nursing assignment
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
• Availability for weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Ability to complete required federal/IHS credentialing and background processes
