Hiring Radiation Oncologist for the VA Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland
Are you a board-certified Radiation Oncologist looking for a stable, long-term locum tenens opportunity where your work will make a meaningful difference?
DAX Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Radiation Oncologist to join the team at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. In this role, you will provide high-quality radiation oncology care to our nation’s Veterans while working alongside an established multidisciplinary team.
What You Can Expect:
Salary Range: $375 – $385 per hour Plus T&L
This is an on-site opportunity with a predictable weekday schedule. Clinic hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The schedule may vary slightly based on patient-care needs, and after-hours call coverage will be required.
The assignment is expected to begin in September 2026. We are seeking a physician who can commit for at least six months, with the opportunity to extend. Full-time coverage is available, although the facility may consider availability ranging from approximately 0.25 FTE through 1.0 FTE.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will provide comprehensive radiation oncology services to an adult Veteran population. Your responsibilities will include:
- New-patient consultations and evaluations
- Follow-up visits
- CT simulations
- Treatment planning and plan review
- Image-guided radiation therapy
- 2D and 3D conformal radiation therapy
- IMRT and VMAT
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
- Stereotactic body radiation therapy
- Coordinating care with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists and nursing staff
The department uses Varian linear accelerator technology, Eclipse treatment planning and the ARIA record-and-verify system.
You May Be a Great Fit If You Have:
- An MD or DO degree
- Completed an accredited Radiation Oncology residency
- Current American Board of Radiology certification in Radiation Oncology
- An active and unrestricted license from any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth or the District of Columbia
- At least five years of post-residency Radiation Oncology experience
- At least three years of continuous clinical experience within the past five years
- Current DEA registration, NPI and BLS certification
- Experience with Varian Edge or similar equipment
- Experience with Eclipse, ARIA, IGRT, Cone Beam CT, SRS, SBRT, IMRT and VMAT
- The ability to complete VA credentialing and obtain clinical privileges
