Interventional Radiologist (Locum Tenens)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Salary: $450.00/hour
Facility: Oklahoma City VA Health Care System (OKCVAHCS)
Assignment Type: On-Site Government Contract
Start Date: Estimated Jan 2027 (pending credentialing/background)
Assignment Length: 12-Month Base Period with Four (4) One-Year Option Periods


Position Overview:

DAX Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist for a full-time, on-site locum tenens opportunity at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. This is an excellent opportunity to care for our nation’s Veterans in a well-established VA medical center while enjoying a long-term assignment with extension potential.

The selected physician will provide comprehensive interventional radiology services in accordance with the standards and guidelines established by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Department of Veterans Affairs.


Specialty:  Board Certified Interventional Radiologist
Client:  VAMC
Location:  Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule/Shifts Times:  Monday – Friday, 8:00-am – 4:30pm
Call Requirements: Average 1:3 call rotation
Patient Ages:  adults
Type of Charting: EMR – CPRS
Procedures: Physician(s) shall be responsible for providing Interventional Radiology procedures, including, but not limited to:

  • Arterial diagnostic & interventional (PTA, stents, thrombolysis, embolization, TACE, stent grafts, foreign body removal)
  • Venous diagnostic & interventional (TIPS, thrombectomy, filters, portal vein embolization, venous access)
  • Venous access procedures (tunneled/non-tunneled catheters)
  • Additional IR procedures per ACR guidelines

Requirements: Board Certified BLS, ACLS, DEA (Must be fellowship trained in Interventional Radiology)
Reason for Need: staff shortage
Credentialing Timeframe:  8-10 weeks on average

  • Full-scope Interventional Radiology procedures per ACR guidelines
  • Moderate sedation competency required
  • MRI and fluoroscopy safety compliance required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology with Interventional Radiology certification
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current DEA registration
  • Current NPI
  • Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentialing and clinical privileges
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Ability to meet all VA onboarding, training, and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive interventional radiology procedures
  • Deliver high-quality patient care to Veteran beneficiaries
  • Document patient encounters in the VA Electronic Health Record
  • Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled
  • Comply with all VA policies, credentialing requirements, and ACR practice standards
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, surgeons, hospitalists, and referring providers
